We’re currently looking for an IT Support Technician to join our Queenstown team. This is a hybrid role involving onsite client support as well as remote helpdesk and project assistance, giving you a well-rounded experience across a variety of clients and environments.
The Role
In this role, you’ll be the friendly face of PCMedia, helping clients with their day-to-day IT issues while gaining valuable experience in the field. You’ll be working both onsite at client premises and remotely from our office.
Day-to-day responsibilities include:
• Providing first-level technical support for a variety of clients (education and commercial).
• Troubleshooting hardware, software, and networking issues.
• Supporting cloud-based platforms such as Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace.
• Assisting with client equipment rollouts and project work.
• Collaborating with senior engineers and helpdesk to escalate and resolve complex issues.
• Maintaining strong communication with clients, ensuring a professional and responsive service.
What We're Looking For
We’re seeking someone who’s passionate about IT, enjoys problem-solving, and is eager to learn. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who wants to build a career in IT.
Essential Skills & Experience:
• Solid knowledge of Windows desktop environments.
• Familiarity with Microsoft 365 (Teams, Outlook, SharePoint).
• Experience with basic networking (Wi-Fi, switches, printers, IP troubleshooting).
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
• Clean, full NZ Driver’s Licence.
• Based in the Queenstown region with eligibility to work in New Zealand.
Desirable (but not required):
• Exposure to macOS or Chrome OS.
• Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, Google Workspace).
• A relevant IT qualification or equivalent hands-on experience.
• Previous experience in a customer-facing IT role (retail, service desk, or field tech).
